The main research interests of Prof. Philippe Van Trappen have been directed to translational research in gynaecological cancers; understanding the molecular mechanisms of early metastatic spread and linking tumor gene expression profiles with biological behaviour and prediction of recurrent disease. His clinical interests are cancer imaging, laparoscopic surgery in gynaecological oncology and pelvic surgery in gynaecological cancers. He is author or coauthor of numerous medical and scientific peer review papers and book chapters and has lectured on molecular biology/genetics and gynaecological oncology at national and international conferences. He is a member of the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology and the International Gynaecological Cancer Society.
